Railways development is the cornerstone to spur economies and it is crucial for Governments to step up their investment in this sector to augment socioeconomic growth. Rapid development in the rail sector along with the strategic integration of the different transport modes can contribute to significant growth and improve productivity. All stakeholders need to better understand the challenges, opportunities and risks related to railway investment to integrate the technical knowledge to construct projects and managerial knowledge required for the effective implementation and execution of large scale projects.

6th Annual Modern Railways will create a one stop shop for all stakeholders to discuss and deliberate on the challenges facing them and brainstorm innovative ideas by generating sustainable practices that are proven in the development of railway infrastructure across the world. This highly-interactive and information packed event will highlight case studies from some of the finest and at the same time provide an excellent networking platform for the public sectors, global professionals and industry leaders who are all directly involved with the growth and development, construction and management of Railways, thereby enabling you to move ahead to the next stage of development.

Day One
Stream 1: Finance, Planning & Economics
This stream will be focusing on the finance, planning and sustainability of rail project. Exploring in depth on the role of PPPs in railway projects, optimising rail-route planning and maximising non-passenger revenue apart from appropiate risk allocation.

Stream 2: Rail Operations, Rolling Stock, Signalling & Technologies
This stream will be focusing on rolling stock and maintenance which main focus is on balancing investment costs in refurbishing rolling stock, track reliability and minimising the faults.

Day Two
Stream 1: Finance, Planning & Economics
This stream will be focusing on land use and economic planning which include Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and trabnsport integration. Also explore the strategy to maximise land use.

Stream 2: Rail Operations, Rolling Stock, Signalling & Technologies
This stream will be focusing on technological advancement in the rail industry and upgrading ticketing system for a cost effective efficiency. The stream will also be exploring on optimising the rail signalling system for better safety.
